On Tuesday, December 10, the final acceptance of the Industry Skills Center (ISC) investment project took place in Lębork. The facility, constructed adjacent to the Vocational Training Center, will commence operations next year. The ISC will be Poland’s sole institution specializing in training wind energy specialists.
Tomasz Litwin, the Lębork County Executive, recognizes offshore wind energy development as a significant opportunity for both the region and Lębork County. The planned establishment of this training center aims to provide qualified personnel for the sector, which, according to the County Executive, will substantially contribute to the advancement of renewable energy sources in Poland.
The investment scope encompassed expanding the Vocational Training Center complex through the construction of an independent building, connected to the existing facility via an accessible connector that ensures unrestricted mobility, including for individuals with disabilities. The newly constructed facility houses two specialized laboratories, a lecture hall, and social-sanitary facilities. The surrounding area has been enhanced with cobblestone pavement. The building is equipped with its own photovoltaic installation that powers its electrical systems.
The single-story structure, with a usable area of 1,835 square meters, complies with EU standards for nearly zero-emission buildings and conforms to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. The total investment cost amounted to 6,303,327.43 PLN. Lębork County received funding of 5,102,300 PLN for project implementation through the “Establishment and Support of 120 Industry Skills Centers (ISC)” program, financed by Next Generation EU funds within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The county’s own contribution totaled 1,219,027.43 PLN.
