The Energy Ministers of 8 Baltic Sea countries – Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Poland and Sweden agreed the Vilnius Declaration, pledging closer collaboration to secure critical offshore energy infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region. This comes after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and various acts of sabotage to energy infrastructure in the Baltic Sea have created new security concerns. PGE and Ørsted have signed an agreement for the transportation and installation of offshore transformer stations for the Baltica 2 project

PGE Group and Ørsted have selected a supplier to transport to the area of the future farm and install offshore substations for the Baltica 2 project, one of the two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. The successful bidder Seaway7 is a world leader in the implementation of offshore wind projects. PGE and Ørsted sign another agreement for exporting power from Baltica 2 project

The contract relates the execution of steerable drilling under the beach necessary for routing 275 kV cable lines and the construction of so-called “connection couplers,” i.e. posts connecting offshore cable lines with onshore cable lines. The works will be carried out by a consortium of Polish companies – ROMGOS Gwiazdowscy and ZRB Janicki.
