New Degree Programme at Gdynia Maritime University: Maritime Business and Management

In response to the growing need for specialists in management and economics with practical preparation for a career in the maritime sector, Gdynia Maritime University, one of the biggest maritime universities in Europe, has launched a modern English-taught bachelor’s (first-cycle) degree programme in Maritime Business and Management. The degree programme will begin at the start of the 2025/2026 academic year and is run by the Faculty of Management and Quality Science.

The programme’s comprehensive curriculum also includes the fundamentals of finance, accounting, marketing, law and quality management, as well as topics from maritime economics.

As part of their degree, students will gain knowledge and competencies in areas such as:

  • maritime trade and logistics
  • international freight forwarding
  • port management and operations
  • shipbuilding industry and modern maritime technologies
  • fishing and maritime tourism

Programme graduates will be well equipped for a career in leadership roles at TSL (Transport, Freight Forwarding, and Logistics) companies worldwide. They may also take up roles at shipping agencies, port operators, trade companies, as well as companies connected with the dynamically developing offshore industry. The degree also prepares graduates to start their own business, in Poland or abroad.

The Maritime Business and Management degree is a 3-year (6 semesters) full-time programme. Graduates are awarded a bachelor’s degree and have the opportunity to continue their studies to master’s degree level, during which they will have the opportunity to further deepen their knowledge and develop new competencies for better management of modern maritime sector companies.
